Welcome to Spirit Science Blog site
Dear Parents and Students,
Physical Science is the study of matter, energy and the changes they undergo. Chemistry is the study of the properties of matter and how it changes. Students in chemistry this semester will learn the following through notes and hands on exploration:
1.The structure of the atom, states of matter and how they relate to the periodic table.
2.Students will know how to plan and conduct an experiment.
3. Students will be able to use formulas to solve problems
4. Students will be able to identify elements in a compound.
5. Demonstrate knowledge of the above through experimentation and careful investigation.
I have read the Fall Syllabus and am aware of the focus of this semester

Spirit is alive in Science
Students have returned to school eager to do well and show their spirit for learning! We have begun this year by reviewing the metric system in Chapter 1.3 of our text. We have already had several opportunities to explore lab equipment and learn how to operate a triple beam balance.
Students have been very cooperative and well behaved in class. They have gotten organized with supplies. Every class is large and we are busting at the seams but the kids are meeting the challenge with positive energy. I am very proud to be their teacher.
